Barton's Journey from St. Francis to :
The journey from St. Francis Hospital, Mutolere Uganda to the Kisoro airstrip was a bit hazard- ous , as the ambulence was unavailable. So we loaded Barton on the stretcher, me carring the glass IV bottle and off we went in an open bed small truck. Fr. Ignatius was kind enough to offer both his truck for the journey and he also sent me these pics.
I have heard and read from the Blogs of Barton's friends and family that he has arrived in New York City and , I assume, is safe and sound ina city hospital, but that is only hearesay for now. Click on one of the comment from my blog and read lots more than I could ever tell you about this remarkable man!
Blessings
Marie

Dear Marie, The amazing responses from friends of Barton Brooks not only speak volumes about their highly esteemed friend, but reveals their kindness and generosity. You can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep. Barton Brooks is lifted up and supported by others who deeply care and are engaged in the lives of others all around the world. Anthony's devotion and humility to his friend, Barton, have deeply blessed Ken and I. All of your recent experiences, from the dolls, the celebrations with the kiddos, new neighbors, and 'being there' in a most unique capacity to help these two men, encourage us to keep entering each day with an attitude of gratitude, willing service, eagerness to serve and relate to others and to be aware of just how many opportunities we are given to share ourselves - It truly does make every day an adventure...wow..thanks and much love, mj and kj

hello marie and all your blog visitors.this anthony again and this is the latest on Barton's health. this is from a friend in the USA.
just talked with Barton's Dad. He was so sweet on the phone and you can tell he's pretty old and feeble. It meant a lot to him that we were concerned and were following up on his health. he said he has had half the surgeries he needs he is still undergoing treatment. He said his eye was going to be ok (i didn't know anything was wrong with that but that was good to hear) and that he should have an almost full recovery.
I told him I would call back tomorrow as Barton's brother will be back in town and can answer more questions as he's been with him in nyc. i'll keep you posted.
Sarah
so do i also promise to keep you informed.anthony
