World AIDS Day Dec 1, 2008

--------2007- Art Work by Godfrey--Uganda

----- Let’s remember to wear red ribbons

On December 1, 2008, we celebrate the 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day. It is a day when people around the world come together to call attention to this world-wide epidemic. This day is important in reminding all of us that AIDS affects millions of people and that the work of confronting this illness must continue.
While there have been significant results and much progress in combating this disease in the past years, much more work and research needs to be done to eradicate this illness from the world population.
The theme for this year’s campaign is “Leadership” and the campaign slogan is “Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise.” It urges everyone and especially leaders to fulfill the promise and commitments that have been made to provide the prevention and treatment necessary to confront this epidemic and to assist those millions who have been affected by HIV/AIDS.
Red ribbons are the international symbol of AIDS awareness. They are worn by people around the world to demonstrate their concern and solidarity for those affected. On December 1, 2008, all are encouraged to wear something RED and to encourage others to do the same.

Thank you so much for all you do. You are one of those warriors that God has placed in a special place that needs YOU and your talents. My your work continue to flourish. AIDS is alot more prevalent in your part of the country yet AIDS is a disease that merits our full attention. Let us continue to fight for a cure. As we celebrate the awareness may we continue to remember those who have battled this crippling disease.
