Michael Turns One Year Old with Celebrations Galore

Dear Friends---------------
----As Michael had the Chicken Pox's on his actual Birthday, we only had a mini celebration with all the lovely young woman who were visiting from the US, Holland and Germany.
----Then early August, following Mass, friends came over to officially celebrate Michael's birthday, followed by yet another celebration held for the Nursing Students. They have known and loved Michael since day one and since they are not allowed to visit Staff homes, I decided to take the party to them.
----We all had cake, dancing and even though Michael had just received a diagnosis of Pneumonia, he was a real trouper all day, eating all the cake icing and honey bread he could get his hands on(or was fed to him) smile.
From left: Alex(a neighbors child) Florida(Maria's daughter) Maria Goretti with Michael on her lap and Bernedette (my Helper and Michael's Caregiver)
------Why can't I have more cake icing?

-----Thank you Diana for the adorable outfit Michael is wearing!
----I have created a "home" that feels as much a "home" as my home in Arkansas
--------Damian your friend is correct "The cheapest face lift is a smile!"
-------See Carol, my hair is shorter. Note Becky's dress--just love it!
--------Mama Maria and Mama Michael watch as Michael stands up alone ( well, not quite)

---------Friends join Michael in my home to celebrate !!

Re, it's so wonderful to see the photos of your home there and the people with you. You are truly an incredible woman. They are blessed to have you bringing your own brand of sunshine there to Uganda. It was wonderful to see you in NYC last week. I will definitely keep checking your blog for all the latest. I wish you the best on your vital mission!

    Much love,

    Marni
