Thanksgiving in LA
Happy Thanksgiving Dear Friends
I truly have so much to be thankful for this year, primarily for a dream that is coming true early next year----Uganda here I come!!!
My last turkey celebration in the USA was spent with my foster son Jim Reasner, his wife Michelle and their 3 extraordinary daughters: Brooke, Amber and Meghan.( For those of you who have known me a long time , you'll remember that Jimmy lived with me while I lived and worked at Sunshine Acres Childrens Home.)Jim turned into quite a husband and father and I am honored that the girls call me" Aunt Marie".
Heather prepared a Thanksgiving Feast for all her friends unable to be with their families this year. She ordered everything on line, it was delivered to her NYC door with step by step instructions.Apparently it was a big hit!
So with tummy and heart full, I travel into the last 3 weeks of formation with "The Lay Mission Helpers". As excited as we are there is a sadness about coming to the end of the program, especially since our numbers have dwindled from 6 to 4 missionaries. We have become close friends and it is good that we will all be serving God in Uganda, in varying ways but within the field of medicine.
Remember you can reach me at 501-691-4711 while I am in the states, and always at this site or my e-mail which is marie@servelite.com (even in Uganda!)
I am thrilled that some friends from many parts of my life will be able to attend my *"Commissioning". Carol B. from AR., Mary J. from AZ., Sue A. from San Jose, CA, as well as local folks Lindsay W. and Marilyn B.
There is still time for you to make plans to come, so please do.-smile.
I am working on an on line Christmas card this year--wish me luck.
Stop as you read this and think of two people you are thankful for and then TELL 'em.
Blessings,
Marie
